2022ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the ROG Strix Flare II Animate and Strix Flare II, the latest Strix Flare II series gaming keyboards boasting a host of features designed to enhance gameplay and provide an unmatched customization experience.

AniMe Matrix LED display

The AniMe Matrix™ LED display on the ROG Strix Flare II Animate has 312 programmable mini LEDs that allow gamers to show custom images, animations, audio visualizations, system status or settings indicators such as brightness level and keyboard RGB lighting mode. The display can also be used to show laptop battery life, mail notifications, time and date.

The keys to victory

Both keyboards feature a high-speed USB micro-controller that delivers an 8000 Hz polling rate that refreshes input up to 8X faster than most gaming keyboards, bringing response time down from 1 ms to a mere 0.125 ms.

The Strix Flare II series keyboards can be specified with ROG NX Red, NX Blue and NX Brown mechanical switches for fast actuation and consistent feel. For additional customization options, the swappable switch design of Strix Flare II Animate allows users to install their preferred switch type. ROG PBT doubleshot keycaps offer a premium feel and long-lasting durability. Each key features mid-height keycaps and a shorter stem to reduce key wobble for more comfortable typing. A specially tuned ROG switch stabilizer reduces keystroke friction to provide smoother and more stable movement for longer keys such as the Spacebar, Shift and Enter. This gives longer keys a keystroke feel that’s true to the specific switch used.

In addition, integrated sound-dampening foam within the chassis absorbs pinging noises and echoes for improved acoustics, while a USB 2.0 passthrough port can be used to plug in a mouse or flash drive, or to charge mobile devices.

Comfort and style

The Strix Flare II Animate keyboard includes a detachable wrist rest that has a built-in light diffuser, so it glows when connected to the keyboard’s front light bar. A standard wrist rest (without diffuser) is included with the Strix Flare II keyboard.

Intuitive controls

The Strix Flare II series keyboards include metal media controls at the top-left corner, and these controls can be programmed into hotkeys, if required. Turn the scroll wheel to adjust volume and mute audio, and use the knob to skip forward or back, pause or play tracks.
