ASUS Outs Pro WS X299 SAGE II Workstation motherboard with 7 PCIe Slots

A workstation motherboard that uses the Intel X299 chipset. The socket is LGA2066, the form factor is CEB (305mmx267mm), and the CPU is compatible with the Core X series with 6 or more cores priced at a whopping 660 Euro.

The network function is a dual 2.5 Gigabit LAN with Intel I225-LM, equipped with seven PCI-Express3.0 (x16 shaped not x16 connected) slots. Taking advantage of the abundant number of lanes in the Core X series, multi-graphics supports 4-Way AMD CrossFire X/NVIDIA SLI. The main specifications are DDR4-4266 x 8 (maximum 256GB) memory slot, SATA3.0 (6Gbps) x8, M.2 x 2, U.2 x 3 for storage. The audio function supports 7.1ch HD audio by Realtek S1200A. Yep, 66 € is a bit low. And if it is this cheap, I'd be worried about quality. Other than that, this is a board that could run two RTX 3090 with one free slot in between, cards in slots 1 and 5.

Sweet. A new motherboard for an older CPU with many built security issues inhibiting it's work loads.

Hard pass on anything Intel until maybe 2021-22....

So in fact Asus take a server board from his catalog, paint it in black, add more rad on the hot point, and charge 100 Euro more for the "workstation" on the box.
(they don't even have added lane wired on 2 PCIe as they were doing in the past...).
