Asus introduces a new ROG Strix power supply series. The two models with 750W and 650W are said to be characterized by a quiet operation and customizable optics.

Last year, Asus presented the striking high-end power supply ROG Thor with up to a whopping 1,200 watts (our review here). Now, the Taiwanese manufacturer announces the new Strix power supply series for the upper-middle range of performance. As with Thor, which is eye-catching due to RGB lighting, Asus also opted for cosmetic adaptability in the new PSU models . However, these do not include an integrated display or lighting options, but are limited to fully modular cables, magnetic logos and "stylish stickers".

The ROG Strix power supplies are designed with 750 watts and 650 watts for high-performance gaming systems and work as quietly as possible. The new models use the same heat sink of the Thor series, which is intended to dissipate a lot of energy in advance. For example, the integrated 135 mm axial fan will only come into action at higher capacity. The fan design with its extended rotor blades should be based on the fans of the high-end Strix graphics cards and be particularly durable thanks to a ball bearing.

Asus claims to have used only high quality Japanese capacitors and other premium components. The two power supplies are also 80Plus Gold certified and come with a 10-year warranty. The new power supplies of the ROG Strix series are available from September for 159.90 EUR (750W) and 139.90 EUR (650W).
