Most gamers use dedicated graphics cards......and not every monitor supports display port. They're including the most commonly used ports.
A gamer motherboard with PS2 and VGA out but no Display Port?

Whaa..? Z170, Z270, etc are performance/mainstream boards designed for that category of CPUs (4 cores). 6/8 core CPUs use x99 enthusiast motherboards. Were you thinking all motherboards for all Intel CPUs had universal sockets?

I think that what he means is that Mainstream should already be at 8 cores and going up, while enthusiast go sky high with 18-20-22 etc, just like those Xeons, which prove that it's definitely possible.
However, because AMD has been in the sewers for the past 5 years or so, Intel is just milking everyone with their outdated 4-core designs calling them "mainstream", when even crappy consoles from several years ago have 8... now even our phones have 8 (or 10).
I really hope Zen manages to shake the market a bit... it's about damn time.
