Phison and Samsung have had pretty much a monopoly on PCIe 4.0 SSD, however, a Chinese brand is is reaching the market as well.

On the social media network WeChat, Asgard announced a new NVME SSD. Both the nand chips and the memory controller are built in China, it is also the company's first model to utilize PCIe 4.0. The AN4 SSD is based on the Innogrit IG5236 Rainier memory controller and has a simple nomenclature. Despite the fact that Innogrit is registered in the United States, it looks to be a Chinese firm. This is connected to Nand chips from the Chinese YMTC, which have 128 layers and can store 1 TB of data. There are also plans for 2TB and 512GB models.

The Chinese Bilibili already has a review, which states that it is slightly faster than the competition from established parties. In sequential reading, the memory used is nearly equivalent to Micron's memory, and about 7% faster than Kioxia's fastest memory. In sequential writing tests, it is about 2% slower than Micron, but 9% faster than Kioxia.
