Display specialist AOC announces the new addition to its 90 Series aimed at professionals. The 27” (68.6 cm) U2790PQU offers 4K resolution (3840x2160 pixels) and a pixel density of 163 ppi, resulting in crisp images. The U2790PQU’s IPS panel and 10-bit colour depth produce 1.07 billion colours, enabling subtle colour transitions. While the grey finish of its body and the 3-side frameless design make this monitor stand out in its class, its future-proof technical specifications, including the height-adjustable ergonomic stand and blue light reducing features, make the monitor a great choice for professionals and prosumers looking for a top-class solution.
Ultra HD, or simply 4K resolution (3840x2160 pixels) is slowly but surely going to replace the current mainstream 1080p (Full HD) and 1440p (Quad HD) monitors. The U2790PQU is a monitor that will be especially appreciated by content creators, video editors, digital artists, but also people working with excel sheets and other information dense applications. The extra-sharpness and vivid details thanks to the 4K resolution, together with the colour accuracy and 10-bit colour depth of the U2790PQU’s IPS panel are a perfect match for the kind of work done by professionals in these fields.
All monitors of the AOC 90 Series come with a unique silver/gunmetal finish, differentiating themselves from the common black or grey dominated displays, and the U2790PQU continues this fashion. The 27” (68.6 cm) panel size combined with the almost borderless design creates a large amount of screen estate, whilst still offering a compact feel and occupying a small amount of space on desks. It also enables seamless multi-monitor setups which continually prove to be a productivity asset in modern workspaces.
Many professionals and prosumers spend a significant amount of time using their displays each day and AOC has the perfect solutions to make this time as comfortable as possible. The ergonomic stand can be adjusted in height (by 130 mm), and can be swivelled (-45°/+45°) and tilted (-3.5°/+19.5°) as well. For users who work with mostly vertical content, the monitor’s pivot mode also allows portrait orientation. Additionally, the U2790PQU employs Low Blue Light mode, which reduces high energy short wavelength blue light and therefore contributes to eye health.
Conforming to regulations such as EnergyStar, EPEAT Silver and TCO 6, the U2790PQU is also a modern, energy-efficient monitor suited for the office of the future.
Users have multiple options to connect the U2790PQU to display sources, thanks to one HDMI 2.0 port, one HDMI 1.4 port and a DisplayPort 1.2, as well as enjoy the flexibility of the built-in 2-port USB 3.0 hub. To output audio as well, users can either use the two built-in 2W speakers or use the built-in headphones output.
The U2790PQU will be available in July 2019 at an MSRP of £299

Yeah, going from 1440p to 4K at 27" definitely makes a large enough visual jump for me that I want it. That being said I do feel like 27" is too small now. I want a 5K 30 or 32" monitor.
I was waiting for that ASUS Ultrawide HDR1000 but idk, the price is kind of insane and I feel like mini-LED/MicroLED is just too close to spend that much on something I'm probably going to replace due to the new tech coming.

Not even remotely in my opinion but it's better than 23/24" 1080p display which honestly looks really bad. It's still sad that Windows doesn't handle scaling properly.

27'', rather high pixel density.
