AMD has officially unveiled its Ryzen 9 7945X3D mobile processor, positioning it as a leading gaming notebook processor. This advanced processor features 16 cores and 32 threads, supported by AMD's 3D Vertical Cache technology.

The Ryzen 9 7945HX series, based on the Zen 4 architecture, features the top model, Ryzen 9 7945HX, utilizing chiplet technology. This CPU boasts 16 cores and 32 threads, with a base clock of 2.5 GHz and a maximum boost clock of 5.4 GHz. The L2 cache capacity is 16 MB, while the significant advancement lies in the L3 cache, now expanded from 64MB to an impressive 128MB through stacking 64MB of cache memory on one of the CPU die, "CCD". With the integration of 3D V-Cache technology, the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D achieves remarkable performance improvements. This technology exhibits 200 times higher density and 3 times higher power efficiency compared to 2D interconnect technology "C4" and 15 times higher than 3D interconnect technology "Micro Bump". The high bandwidth enhances gaming performance, especially for games that require processing large volumes of data.

According to the provided materials by AMD, the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D offers an average performance improvement of about 15% compared to the Ryzen 9 7945HX, and more than 50% in certain games.

AMD asserts that the Ryzen 9 7945X3D can generate an average gaming performance uplift of 15% compared to its existing flagship processor, the Ryzen 9 7945HX, positioning it ahead of the Intel Core i9-13980HX. The ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 17 X3D will be the inaugural notebook to feature the AMD Ryzen 9 7945X3D, scheduled for availability on August 22, 2023.
