AMD Renoir Ryzen 7 4800U Gets Geekbenched
At geekbench a Lenovo notebook embedded with Ryzen 7 4800U 8-core/16-thread processor has been spotted. That's renoir based on ZEN2 cores.
The Ryzen 7 4800U achieves a 4910 single-core, and 21693 multi-core which is pretty impressive for something at 15 Watt really, hack faster than a Core i7-1065G7. The Ryzen 7 4800U features eight Zen 2 cores, 16 threads, up to 4.2GHz boost, up to 1.8GHz base, eight Radeon cores, and 15W TDP. Graphics will be 28% better than Intel's Core i7, Su said, 90% better on multi-thread performance and 4% higher on single-thread performance. "In 2020, we will be introducing the best laptop processor ever built," Dr Lisa Su, AMD CEO, said during the press conference. The processors will use AMD's 7nm technology.
Cores / Threads | Clock speed | Max boost | Compute units | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Ryzen 7 4800H | 8/16 | 2.9 GHz | 4.2 GHz | 8 |
Ryzen 5 4600H | 6/12 | 3.0 GHz | 4.0 GHz | 6 |
Ryzen 7 4800U | 8/16 | 1.8 GHz | 4.2 GHz | 8 |
Ryzen 7 4700 U | 8/8 | 2.0 GHz | 4.1 GHz | 7 |
Ryzen 5 4600 U | 6/12 | 2.1 GHz | 4.0 GHz | 6 |
Ryzen 5 4500U | 6/6 | 2.3 GHz | 4.0 GHz | 6 |
Ryzen 3 4300U | 4/4 | 2.7 GHz | 3.7 GHz | 5 |

Well, it is the 15 watt part. Can't be too big of a GPU.
Only 28% difference on Graphics scale? Damn Intel caught up nicely on GPU performance.

Is this a joke? A 30% difference for a 15W TDP part is massive.

Toss3, as you said, in a very limited TDP as 15W for both CPU and GPU, 30% above an already good performance GPU on the Intel, is massive. Intel had bad drivers, AMD and nvidia have excellent drivers, so games should run at a i7 + MX250 level but at 40% of the TDP and less size.

AMD Renoir Ryzen 7 4800U Gets Geekbenched
In the screencap, it states 4700U.
Are we sure its 4800U and not 4700U ?
edit : Also, the memory bandwidth makes it look very likely that it was in Single channel mode, with only one Memory stick. (~20GB/s)
Single channel DDR4-2400/2666
