AMD Releases Athlon 3000G Processor for Mainstream Desktop Users

Before we begin, our review sample got shipped to what seems to be another dimension, ergo we'll publish our review on Athlon 3000G at a later stage. AMD released the new AMD Athlon 3000G, its newest processor for mainstream desktop users.

Harnessing the power of the “Zen” architecture and Radeon Graphics, the Athlon 3000G delivers the ability to take on a diverse range of tasks, from everyday productivity applications to high-definition gaming – all while coming in at an incredible price point. The Athlon 3000G is also the first “Zen” based Athlon processor to be unlocked, and the first in this segment, giving enthusiasts the potential to overclock their processors and leverage even more of its power.

Consumers can purchase the Athlon 3000G in the coming days from participating retailers for $49. Again, AMD is issuing a new sample due to shipping issues, which should arrive soon we hope.

I can't believe your sample of the current AMD flagship CPU got lost in transit! Could there possibly be worse luck?

Shame your review sample got lost. I know it is old tech and so missing a bit of IPC, but at that and with not too many watts to cool down it would be fun seeing how it overclocked and also what sort of games it could play at 1080p. Presumably not RDR2, but then again not many people can even play that at at 720p or any p whatsoever ( ho ho) )

After a quick scan around, for an entry level cpu into the AM4 system that's a hell of a cpu and price - cooler included too!! - beating all comparable Intel offerings (both cpu and integrated gfx), excellent for someone looking for a value system with significant upgradability potential. As Intel have stated, they're also being impacted ominously on the value end through supply issues. Pricing doesn't help.
