AMD has signaled the imminent release of its RX 7800/7700 series GPUs, aiming to rival the top-performing graphics cards in the market, during the company's recent quarterly earnings call.

Lisa Su, AMD's CEO, declared that the mainstream RX 7600 cards, launched in Q2, are set to be followed by the enthusiast-class Radeon 7000-series in Q3, indicating a broader application of the RDNA 3 GPU architecture.

Earlier, there had been inklings of the RX 7900 GRE, a Navi 31-based chip with a reduced package size, featuring only four Memory Cache Dies (MCDs) as opposed to the standard six. The same chip is reportedly interchangeable with the anticipated Navi 32 package. This new package is predicted to bridge the performance gap between the RX 7600 and the RX 7900 XT/XTX GPUs.

The anticipated RX 7800 and 7700 cards have been absent from the market so far. Much of this delay could be due to the existing stockpile of RX 6800/6900 class GPUs, whose performance overlaps the anticipated performance of the new chips.

Despite scarce concrete leaks surrounding Navi 32 and RX 7800/7700 class chips, a Q3 deadline has been set for the new cards' launch. Following typical AMD and Nvidia release patterns, the RX 7800 (XT) is expected to hit the market first, followed by the RX 7700 (XT).

The RX 7800-class model is projected to initially retail around the $600 range, with the RX 7700-class card likely to occupy a lower price bracket.
