AMD will release new laptop processors, they are ZEN2 based 7nm power-efficient processors. 3rd generation U, H Ryzen series 4000 mobile processors offers up-to 8 cores and 16 threads with an up-to 4.2 GHz boost.

The flagship processor is the Ryzen 7 4800U The Ryzen 7 4800U features eight Zen 2 cores, 16 threads, up to 4.2GHz boost, up to 1.8GHz base, eight Radeon cores and 15W TDP. Graphics will be 28% better than Intel's Core i7, Su said, 90% better on multi-thread performance and 4% higher on single-thread performance. A recent leak of the Ryzen 7 4800H showed performance nearing the level of the Intel i9-9980HK.

Two mobile CPUs have been mentioned so far. First is the Ryzen 7 4800U. It will have eight cores and 16 threads, with a peak boost frequency of 4.2GHz, eight Radeon cores and a TDP of 15W. The second a Ryzen 7 4800H, with a better base frequency at 2.9GHz, 1,000MHz higher than the Ryzen 7 4800U.

"In 2020, we will be introducing the best laptop processor ever built," Dr Lisa Su, AMD CEO, said during the press conference. The processors will use AMD's 7nm technology.
