Alleged lineup of Intel Raptor Lake CPUs appears - upto 24 cores / turbo boost 5.5 GHz
According to reports, Intel's future Raptor Lake chips will have a diverse range of features. The processors can have up to 24 cores and 32 threads. The announcement of Raptor Lake is planned to take place at the end of next year.
Intel Raptor Lake-S family of desktop processors will be based on the same hybrid architecture as the Alder Lake processors. In other words, the chips will have a mix of speedier cores with hyperthreading and some more energy-efficient cores that do not have hyperthreading.
Alder Lake is likely to include a total of eight performance cores and eight energy-efficient cores at the highest possible frequency. Raptor Lake would have a maximum of eight fast cores and sixteen frugal cores, with a maximum of eight fast cores and sixteen frugal cores. This would result in a total of 24 cores and 32 threads on the processor.
In the Raptor Lake series, Intel offers a variety of different configurations that differ in the amount of fast and efficient cores they have. In accordance with the available information, the overclockable K series for enthusiasts is available in three core counts: 24, 16, and 14. Pentium models with only two faster cores would be available as well as versions with fewer cores in other series, including the Pentium.
The varied series would also make a difference in the total daily production. The TDP of K-series chips would be 125 watts, while the TDP of mainstream series chips would be 65 watts and that of T-series chips would be 35 watts. With the exception of some i5 chips that have 24 execution units and some Pentium chips that have 16 execution units, all models appear to have an integrated GPU with 32 execution units.
Raptor Lake would get improved IPC over Alder Lake, as well as greater L2 cache and faster clock rates, with turbo frequencies of up to 5.5GHz, compared to Alder Lake. Also reported to be improved is the support for DDR5-5600 memory, which has now been officially included to the game. Alder Lake is planned to give official support for DDR5-4800 memory modules up to a certain limit.
