AMD has released a new Beta driver, 13.11 Beta 9.4.  This release helps you out on CrossFire scaling in Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer and is should fix the intermittent black screens or display loss observed on some Radeon R9 290X and R9 290 cards. The mobile-friendly version of the driver comes has Enduro profiles for XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Need for Speed Rivals. The Catalyst 13.11 Beta9.4 is available for Windows 8.1/8/7 and features support for the Radeon R9, R7, HD 7000, HD 6000 and HD 5000 Series cards.

IHS researchers took one of Sony's new PlayStation 4 consoles apart and estimated production cost. The report claims the PS4 has a total bill of materialsof $372 and a manufacturing cost of $9, resulting in a total manufacturing cost of $381. Given the PS4's retail pricing of $399 this means Sony is still selling the console at a loss.

MARSHAL has added a new 2-bay external HDD enclosure to its product page, the MAL352U3R. Measuring W135mm x D225mm x H121.5mm and weighing 1.6kg, the enclosure is equipped with a USB 3.0 interface, RAID (0,1) support, a built-in 70mm cooling fan at the back and can house a total of two 3.5-inch SATA HDDs. The MAL352U3R will hit the market from late November for 6,980 Yen (about $70).
