It hasn't been more than a few weeks that we heard about some Ryzen 3 2200GE and Ryzen 5 2400GE APUs being listed in a compatibility listing for motherboards. AMD now has added these to its product pages, the GE models will be 35 Watt (TDP) based APUs.

And at such TDPs that makes the two APUs more energy friendly models. The Ryzen 3 2200GE has been fitted with 4 cores that run at a 3.2 GHz base frequency, which may boost towards 3.6 GHz. This unit has 4 MB of L3 cache and 8 Vega GPU cores running at 1100 MHz. This processor has no SMT and thus has four threads.

The Ryzen 5 2400GE, however, has SMT enabled and thus gets eight-threads available. This four core unit 4 cores also can boost a notch higher towards 3.8 GHz. The IGP is a bit more feisty as well, having 11 Vega cores running at 1250 MHz.

APU Core/Thread Base / Turbo IGP IGP Freq TDP
Ryzen 3 2200GE 4/4 3.2 / 3.6 GHz Vega 8 1100 MHz 35W
Ryzen 3 2200G 4/4 3.5 / 3.7 GHz Vega 8 1100 MHz 65W
Ryzen 5 2400GE 4/8 3.2 / 3.8 GHz Vega 11 1250 MHz 35W
Ryzen 5 2400G 4/8

3.6 / 3.9 GHz

Vega 11 1250 MHz 65W

The TDP of both processors is 35 watts, we're not sure if the TDP will be configurable at BIOS level. While AMD is listing the new low power APUs on its website, it's unknown when they actually will become available.  These APUs might be a terrific solution for a simple Internet PC, HTPC or even small NAS server.
