We talked about it before, but that was a 4K screen, this one is 7680 x 4320 pixels ! So that's 16x more pixels then Full HD :)

Sharp delivers an image from the future at CES 2012 by showing off a prototype of a 8K Super Hi-Vision 85" TV! With a resolution of 7680 x 4320 pixels this screen offers 16x more pixels than Full HD, but Sharp says it won't be available until sometime between 2020 and 2025.

With the resolution coming in at an astounding 7680 x 4320 pixels (10 bits per pixel), an uncompressed 30-minute broadcast would require about 6TB of data. The aspect ratio remains the same as with HDTV (16:9), but the framerate is set at a 60p format, while HDTV uses 24p, 30p or 60i. Out with the standard 7.1 surround sound as well. The UHDTV format supports up to a completely immersive 22.2 multichannel sound system, which was developed by NHK.

Interestingly, a 30-minute broadcast in uncompressed 8K would require about 6TB of data. Oh we so need viber Internet ...
