:3eyes: Supposed to wait a week, if not months (or years as of late) Now, we just need to find the one that's the least hassle / coolest.

P.S. I did this with my 6850 (->6870 higher clocked bioses) that still runs today, don't remember if i did it with the 4850.

You're fine, just bring along another vid card as your fail-safe/de-brick. We hope to see you back as that's the card i will probably be using.

If he has a card with a Dual BIOS switch then he will be fine as well.

You should be fine if you have a backup card or if your card has dual BIOSes on it.

Thanks guys, it has a dual bios so I'll be fine :) Just need to track down a 4gb 580 nitro+ bios! I'll have a look into to later on and do some before and after benchies.

"Should you want to give it a go, be warned as failure is an option."

I think it may be better worded as "be warned as failure is a possibility."

    Big Nope.
    Because R9 270X have 1280 shaders,R7 370 have 1024 shaders,etc etc.
    R7 370 is weaker than 270X.

    About 370X,nobody knows.

So gpu in 570/580 are just more quality yield of n-th generation silicon absolutely no new hardware implementations?

Same design from 2016, I hopped the fab process would make them a bit better but I was wrong.

This is just playing with fire in my opinion, the gain is so small over the possibility of losing your card...I'd rather OC and keep temps in check.

I was able to OC to same level as Hilbert on the RX 570 Nitro+ review, but only added +48mv.
+96 was too much and I was hiting 85C and throttling, then I lowered to +48 and added another fun to cool the card(only using 2x120mm ~600rpm in+ 120mm 600rpm out fans so case is not friendly place for extreme overclocking :-)

Makin me feel old now, j/k. I know that wasn't the intention. Well at least many now see why I dont regret it. I just threw ME4 plus other 2k17 triple-a's, and all is more than fine.

But yes, i should of realized a secondary bios re-mediates that and necessary if you run >1 pci-ex, and didn't because I never owned one. Yeah i'm from the time when you could easily chip an xbox (classic) console and even that had the outside switch w/ dual rom/bios support. Nice ocer's tool, implemented by the chip manu, off-topic old-fart, buzzer. See, now i'm doing the whole "In my day...we had hunting knifes!" sch-peal, so def no offense taken!

Especially since, you're a relative youngster to some of us. Pong wasn't a thing in my youth...unless it used the actual paddles and balls.

Aaaah! I knew this was going to be possible. I have been saying this since it came out about the 580. Now all I have to do is take my little Red Devil deep undercover and bring it up to RX 580.

I would like to have a go. I have the sapphire RX480-4GB.
There are x2 sapphire RX580-8GB bios on techpowerup.
So any one got an RX580-4GB version bios as I do know the 8GB bios will cause me a lot of trouble.

I'm more concerned about the PCI-E power draw than anything which has probably been completely fixed on the RX 580. I would seriously think about this before flashing my 480.
