Anyone else notice the Skylake-S 4+4e replacing Broadwell on the same line? I'm assuming that means when Kaby Lake drops, Intel will also release an eDRAM Skylake chip?

Meanwhile look at the old-gen MMOs like World of Warcraft and especially Lineage 2.. World of Warcraft has been improved but Lineage 2 is a purely single-threaded game. It's a mess, I've had about the same framerates on my Core 2. But for recent AAA titles, I can confirm that unless you go SLI 980Ti a 2600k (2500k as well) is enough. And if you do want to SLI you can always overclock the living sh!t out of it.
Actually you are bit wrong on Lineage 2. It is one of remnants of P4 HT era. And as such it does benefit from CPU with HT even while it is different kind of HT. But on other hand, while fps gets better with proportionally faster CPU, loading times (unless limited by HDD) are practically same due to engine built in limitation. I have been modifying it for years. This object count per second loaded could have been fully overridden up to interlude. Yes, we were committing bannable offense to allow us battle against people who threw tons of crafting materials/adena around port.
