Dude, search for XDA or buy a new phone, android 2.3 is ancient. I had android 2.3 on my sapo a5, it was fun, but on android youll preferably want to stay with the times aka android +5.0 and up to enjoy the experience dude.
well sometimes even them can't help you ,Something about locked bootloader

That's the whole point of it, an OS that is barebones which allows you to customise it in any way you want. Besides that offering updates and longevity to devices literally abandoned by manufacturer.
I guess im kinda spoiled with the Samsung software i must admit , i prefer it over lineage. even for as old as android 4.2. Having root makes it possible to set anything to your likes anyways.

What holds you from getting a new phone ? android 2 is really old man. btw, you could always try to see if there are custom roms for the tablet.
Why should I get a new phone if mine still works? What would I do with the old one? Besides, money doesn't grow on trees. When I bought it Samsung said it would upgrade to 4.0. When I bought the tablet, Samsung again said it would upgrade to 5.0. You see a pattern? Ya... I buy new hardware when the old dies or I need the performance and workflow of new hardware.

Yep, as above, XDA Developers forums are where you want to go for updated ROMs

What phone / what tablet? Download either CyanogenMod, or LineageOS. LineageOS is a successor to CyanogenMod, check here for your device. If can't find, check for your device CyanogenMod. Using LineageOS for my HTC OneM8 since its release, amazing stuff. No bloatware, light, stable and gave me like 40% better battery saving.
Phone is a Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 Tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Wifi Budget devices, I'm not the kind of person who buys every year for the experience... If you can find me a rom that works in Portugal, I'll be thankful. Thanks for the input, I've searched but wasn't lucky at all.

Just checked, LineageOS isn't available for your device, however for your phone managed to find Cyanogenmod. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2575127 (you can find download link on last page in thread). Good luck!

I lurked those forums for years to no luck. All roms available for SGMini2 are just skins or not compatible. I had Cyanogenmod but it cut my text messages limit in half making me spend more money to write simple messages. I had problems with making calls too. I only use my phone to check the time and receive calls atm so it doesn't matter, I'll upgrade in the near future. There are roms available for SGTab4 but not for my device. Mine is 7'' and wifi based, there are no roms that aren't just skins. I don't want a 4.4.3 rom skinned like 5.0 because it makes no sense.

Thank you all so much for the help, but my devices are either too old or dead on arrival. Basically bad purchase decisions. I'll get new devices soon maybe.

Thats fine. For me, android is all about screwing around. Like my galaxy a5 2017? I just got the oficial 7.0 update but im installing the lineageOS anyway because stock android is the way to go and because i like to screw around with my phones. You should give cyanogemod a shot, if anything else for the fun of custom roms. 😀
