Can't remember which links i used on there, but it only took a few hrs (im only on 6.5mb).
EDIT: Looks like hes changed the links, as the one i used isn't any of them now.
May be best of torrenting it.

The freezes are game breaking tho.
Every now and then the game locks up and loops sound then 10 seconds later it continues.
Dunno if it's related to HL itself or the Mod.

The game always had freezes. its when the next section loads.
With larger textures and stuff the freezes will take longer even

It's not the loading screen, because it would show "Loading..." (I played HL2 before and know where game loads happen)
It happens like 3-5 times in a level. Game freezes up sound continues and a couple of seconds later the game unfreezes.
Seems to be happening to more Source Games.

hmm thats strange, i dont have any freezes beside the loading.
I have just played it for a hour or so.
I dont have any of this with other steam games aswell btw.
Which other games behave like this for you ?

I got more Steam Games but it only happens in HL2 atm.
I googled about it and it seems it happens with other people too in all Source Games.
Games like Dishonored and Skyrim don't have this issue.

well stuttering can happen to any game. im pretty sure if you google stuttering skyrim it will give plenty of results.
like i said i dont have stuttering.
maybe other people in this thread can comment if they got stuttering too.

It's not suttering... It's 5 second freezes.
And it doesn't happend with -nosound.
Anyways, can't find another solution so screw this buggy source game. Atleast i played them back in the day when they worked flawless.

ah so its related to your soundcard. well atleast you pinned down the problem.
have you tried different sample rate formats in windows ?

Already uninstalled everything.
Other games work fine with my current hardware, so i doubt it's related to my soundcard. Source games always been buggy.
Apart from that, getting stuck behind a plastic bottle is bothering me enough with source games.

Lmfao, resistance are useless, i was going through the building with 4 of em, got to the bottom of the stairwell, sent them on ahead to clean the place out, and they got absolutely mullered! 😀

Striders are well solid in this version, took me a bloody age to get past the first ones :P

Finally got past them all, jesus was tough, now onto the last part, 'Our Benefactors', get this out of the way and i can start e*pisode 1 again 😀

At last, i finished it, jesus it was solid though, that big lift you go up (when heading up to the Dark Energy level, when you've only got the Gravity Gun), the combines were just relentless on the way up, took bloody ages to do, and when Dr Breen took off after Dr Mosmon turned on him, i had to use the noclip command again to get down from the casket thing, as i couldn't move, Alyx was screaming 'come on Gordon', but i was rooted 😀
Now onto E-pisode 1 :P
