XFX presents detailed information about its new lineup of Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT graphics cards. The lineup consists of three models

The company has departed from AMD's reference design and has chosen its custom design for all models. These graphics cards are part of XFX's Speedster series, engineered for optimized airflow and enhanced cooling. Currently, the exact specifications like game and boost clocks for these cards remain undisclosed.

  1. XFX Radeon RX 7800 XT QICK 319 Core Edition (RX-78TQICKF9)
  2. XFX Radeon RX 7800 XT MERC 319 Black Edition (RX-78TMERCB9)
  3. XFX Radeon RX 7700 XT QICK 319 Black Edition (RX-77TQICKB9)

There are two primary series within the Speedster GPU lineup: MERC and QICK. The MERC series is geared towards the high-end user segment and is packed with advanced features. On the other hand, the QICK series is designed for mainstream users who might not require all the features offered by the MERC series. Both series incorporate a triple-fan design with 13 blades and are expected to have a dual-BIOS feature. The main difference lies in the backplate design: MERC has a ridged backplate and an illuminated XFX logo, while the QICK offers a simpler design without lighting.

The RX 7800 XT includes 60 Compute Units and 16GB of GDDR6 memory with a 256-bit interface. In contrast, the RX 7700 XT is equipped with 54 Compute Units and 12GB of GDDR6 memory on a 192-bit interface.

The models differ in their structural design:

  • The XFX Radeon RX 7800 XT QICK employs a 2.5-slot triple-fan design with 13 blades and a vented aluminum backplate. It also has a dual BIOS feature.
  • The XFX Radeon RX 7800 XT MERC 319 Black Edition utilizes a 2.75-slot triple-fan cooler, Vapor Chamber technology, an aluminum stamped cover, a unique venting backplate, and a dedicated 9-phase GPU VRM.
  • The Radeon RX 7700 XT QICK 319 Black Edition, though similar, features a 2.5-slot triple-fan cooler with a distinct design.

All models are set to launch on September 6, 2023. The official price by AMD for the RX 7800 XT is $499, and the RX 7700 XT is $449. The final pricing for these custom models from XFX is yet to be confirmed.
