MSI Low-Profile Arc A380 Graphics Card Surfaces
According to ITmedia, Intel's slowestArc desktop GPU is now available for DAIV workstations. The DAIV Z3-A380 is among the first systems to be reviewed using an MSI Arc A380 GPU.
We've noticed offers for this GPU on Chinese e-tail sites, but no one has specifically tested this GPU model. The MSI A380 is a low-profile model with two tiny fans and no power connectors. Despite being a low-profile GPU, it requires two slots. The I/O bracket has two display ports (DP+HDMI), although it is unclear whether these are HDMI2.1 and DP 2.0. This model is set to the default boost clock of 2450 MHz, with memory set to 1937 MHz (15.5 Gbps). As with previous A380 variants, only 8 Xe-Cores and 6GB of GDDR6 96-bit memory are available. In the DEIV 4N system, the A380 outperforms the GeForce GTX 1650. (equipped with mobile i7-1260P). The GPU is 10% and 39% quicker in 3DMark Firestike and TimeSpy, respectively. That is still not impressive, but the A380 is not a gaming GPU.
ITmedia has evaluated Intel's A380 Alchemist GPUs, which have relatively strong video decoding capabilities. This could be the deciding factor in choosing this system over others. After all, this is a workstation/business PC, not a gaming machine. This DAIV Z3-A380 system includes an Intel Core i7-12700 processor and 32GB of DDR4 memory. It's a mid-tower chassis with enough space for hard drive storage. A big fan is mounted on the side panel to ensure adequate ventilation for the MSI A380. However, at 75W TDP, it should not get too hot.

There is a cool 6 GB of GDDR6 memory which sounds great and the highest I have seen on this gen's entry-level cards. I love seeing the potential of the ARC product and now specifically the A380 Alchemist GPU. INTEL entering the market as a major player is a wonderful event to see. It was about time that NVIDIA and AMD are not anymore the only ones that can play in the major league! Good for the man on the street like me and who is still holding-on to his old and trusty EVGA 980ti like there is tomorrow! Intel’s general GPU pricing from what I can gather should also be a godsend perhaps making possible in purchasing a relatively strong GPU for $200 or less. Interesting times ahead!
