Microsoft releases 3D sound wireless headset for Windows / Xbox

A wireless headset that supports stereophonic technologies such as Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, and DTS Headphone: X. In addition to being able to connect to multiple Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 at the same time, it also supports Bluetooth, which allows connection to mobile devices.

In addition, it has an automatic mute function that shuts out the voice input of the microphone when not talking so as not to interfere with the voice chat of other members, and a "dial ring" function that balances the game voice and voice chat voice. The driver is a 40mm caliber synthetic paper diaphragm + neodymium magnet, impedance 32Ω, the frequency response is 20Hz to 20kHz, battery drive time is up to 15 hours, charging time is about 3 hours, and 30 minutes of charging can drive about 4 hours. Equipped with a quick charging function that can be used.

Weight is 312g, Bluetooth version is 4.2, codec is SBC, profile is A2DP / HFP / HSP. The domestic release date is scheduled for March 16th, and reservations will be accepted sequentially from February 17th.

Why would you release a new headset with BT 4.2 not 5.1 ?

How does it connect to the consoles?

From what I understand the consoles don't have Bluetooth.

I couldn't imagine why not either. Wouldn't 5.1 be backwards compatible with the rest before it right??

Bluetooth is the secondary wireless connection so I guess they didn't think it was important and probably got a good offer on 4.2 chips.

WiFi. There's a good chance it'll work on PC with the wireless adapter.

I couldn't imagine why not either. Wouldn't 5.1 be backwards compatible with the rest before it right??

Yes it's backwards compatible. It's probably a cost thing. 4.2 in bulk from some supplier getting rid.

Wonder if the low latency of these through the Xbox also applies to Xbox One and PC. Interesting headset to say the least, and you have to imagine it's decent after their experience with the Surface headphones.
