Microsoft drops Xbox One price to $299

Microsoft drops Xbox One price to $299

Microsoft has reduced the price of nearly all of its Xbox One bundles by $50, with the lowest-priced consoles now available for as little as $299. The discount is only available "for a limited time" according to the Xbox site, but the timing is certainly interesting.

Microsoft has previously reduced the Xbox One to $299 during promotional periods such as Black Friday, or over the Christmas shopping season. But the unexpected timing of its latest discount lends credence to recent rumors that the company is preparing to announce a new 'Xbox One Slim' at the E3 gaming expo in two weeks' time.

I hope so, but there is no point in one.

If MS continues with the trend of PC releases (personally all I miss to sell my X1 is Gears 4) there is no reason to own an Xbox for any PC gamers.

I will be getting PS4 Neo and whatever comes next and every new PlayStation, but Sony offers me games that I cant play on my PC.

MS has Windows, all they need now is some sort of Xbox service, imagine paying for Xbox Gold on your PC and that allows you to play every X1 game on your PC!
I believe that xbox is going to be a service in future and Xbox consoles just something for people to use their living room ala Steam Box.

now what is this supposed to mean.
not funny, cruel and a bit offensive, if the xbox one price ever drops to 300$ in Syria it would be a 3 month salary for an over average Syrian not to forget the price of games and the DRM activation which requires internet broadband, another luxury very few may enjoy :3eyes:
so those who wanna can't buy it, those who can are way tooo smart want to buy one, most are PC hardcore Gamers :nerd:

Well it leaves option for people without gaming pcs :)

And truth is MS makes all the money on the software not the hardware.
