Performance metrics for the RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT graphics cards have surfaced, offering insights into how they compare with the RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 Ti 16GB models.

The Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT, based on the Navi 32 architecture, have been evaluated by Argentine publication, HD Tecnología. These metrics suggest that these AMD graphics cards are in close competition with Nvidia's offerings. However, it's crucial to treat these benchmark results cautiously, despite HD Tecnología claiming that the data stems from AMD's review guide. HD Tecnología released the performance data without revealing the resolution and system specifications used for the tests. What is clear, though, is that AMD used DirectX 12 for the evaluations, setting each game to its maximum configurations.

If these results are accurate, the Radeon RX 7800 XT outperformed the GeForce RTX 4070 in rasterization by margins ranging from 2% to 23%, with particularly notable results in titles like Borderlands 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Cyberpunk 2077. In other games, the performance gap between the Radeon RX 7800 XT and GeForce RTX 4070 remained under 15%.

Similarly, the Radeon RX 7700 XT outperformed the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti. Though the data didn't specify memory capacity, it seems likely that AMD compared the Radeon RX 7700 XT to the 16GB GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, given this model's emphasis in the company's presentation. Across various games, the Radeon RX 7700 XT held rasterization advantages of up to 31%, with the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB only surpassing it in Dead Island 2.

The performance landscape shifted upon enabling ray tracing. The GeForce RTX 4070 demonstrated superior ray tracing capabilities of 13% to 69% against the Radeon RX 7800 XT in Cyberpunk 2077 at different settings. The Radeon RX 7800 XT, however, performed better with ray tracing at lower settings. The Radeon RX 7700 XT and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB exhibited similar patterns, with the Nvidia model excelling at higher ray tracing configurations and the AMD card performing better on lower settings. Regarding cost, the Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT are priced at $499 and $449 respectively, while the initial prices for the GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 Ti 16GB stood at $599 and $499. It's worth noting that Nvidia dropped the price of the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB by $50 prior to AMD's unveiling.

As the launch date for the Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT nears, it's advisable for potential buyers to await official reviews before making a purchase decision.
