Custom GeForce RTX 4080 cards from Gigabyte and MSI photos

A little more than two weeks before the release of Nvidia's GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card with 16GB of memory, manufacturers of add-in-boards (AIBs) should start sharing pictures of their products. 

The AD103 graphics processing unit on Nvidia's GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card is based on the Ada Lovelace architecture. It has 9728 CUDA cores that are connected to 16GB of 22.4 GT/s GDDR6X memory through a 256-bit interface. The product is expected to use up to 320W of power. It could be one of the best graphics cards for gaming. This number is about the same as the power used by Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3080 graphics board from the last generation. So you can be sure that these units will have huge coolers. The GeForce RTX 4080 Eagle graphics card from Gigabyte has a huge cooler with three fans that is 3.5 inches wide and quite tall. VideoCardz does not say what the clock speeds of the graphics card are, but it will not be slower than Nvidia's recommended 2210 MHz base and 2505 MHz boost speeds. The board will use a 12VHPWR (12+4-pin power connector), but we do not know if Gigabyte will include Nvidia's 16-pin adapter with the product. MSI also put out its own pictures of its six GeForce RTX 4080 products. The GeForce RTX 4080 16GB Ventus 3X, the GeForce RTX 4080 16GB Ventus 3X OC, the GeForce RTX 4080 16GB Suprim, the GeForce RTX 4080 16GB Suprim X, the GeForce RTX 4080 16GB Gaming Trio, and the GeForce RTX 4080 16GB Gaming X Trio. All of the boards will be huge, measuring up to 337 mm by 140 mm by 67 mm, because they will all have a triple-wide, triple-fan cooler. Also, a 12VHPWR power connector will be included.

Some AIB vendors will probably come up with hybrid cooling systems that are smaller than air cooling solutions. However, to fit these boards into smaller chassis, you will probably need an AIB with a smaller PCB and a custom liquid cooling system.
