AMD has unveiled its latest iteration of the Special Preview Driver (version: 23.30.01.03), offering users a firsthand encounter with FSR 3 Fluid Motion Frames (FMF) technology. This innovative technology from AMD aims to rival NVIDIA's DLSS 3 Frame Generation. Notably, this driver operates as an off-branch release and is compatible with both the Radeon RX 6000 series and the RX 7000 series.
Fluid Motion Frames (FMF) technology is engineered to be highly versatile and cross-platform, similar to its predecessor, FSR 2. Currently, FMF is optimized to function seamlessly with DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 applications, specifically on Radeon RX 7000 RDNA3 and RX 6000 RDNA2 GPUs.
In the update released on November 9th, AMD has focused on enhancing the driver's stability, particularly in scenarios involving task-switching between applications that either utilize FMF or do not. This update also addresses various intermittent driver crashes and resolves issues related to the display of metrics, further refining the user experience.
