Western Digital Unveils New SanDisk and SanDisk Professional Products

Western Digital has introduced a range of new solutions from its SanDisk brand and SanDisk Professional line in anticipation of IBC2023. 

These additions expand the company's ecosystem of digital content storage solutions tailored for the broadcasting, media, and entertainment sector. These professional-grade products include two desktop hard drive solutions and a memory card, designed to meet the stringent requirements of production-level video workflows while maintaining a focus on quality and reliability.

SanDisk Professional G-DRIVE PROJECT

• High Performance and Scalability: Equipped with a Thunderbolt 3 interface, this solution delivers superior performance and supports daisy-chaining for up to five devices, facilitating diverse digital content creation workflows. It is also compatible with USB 3.2 Gen 2.
• 7200RPM Ultrastar Enterprise-class Hard Drive: Offers a maximum capacity of 22 TB and read/write speeds of 260 MB/s, ensuring it can handle demanding workloads and safeguard mission-critical content.
• Availability: The SanDisk Professional G-DRIVE PROJECT is available now, with prices starting at $369.99 in the United States. It includes a five-year limited warranty and can be purchased from the Western Digital Store or authorized SanDisk Professional retailers, e-tailers, and distributors.

SanDisk Professional G-RAID MIRROR

• Massive Capacity: With a maximum capacity of 44 TB (22 TB in default RAID 1 configuration) and two 7200RPM Ultrastar Enterprise-class Hard Drives, this solution is ideal for robust workloads and archiving essential content.
• Mirror Mode for Peace of Mind: Shipped in RAID 1 for automatic data duplication, ensuring data redundancy. Easily switch to JBOD or RAID 0 without the need for additional software.
• PRO-BLADE SSD Mag Slot: Enables high-speed offloading, copying, or editing of content from a PRO-BLADE SSD mag (sold separately).

SanDisk PRO-CINEMA CFexpress Type B Card

• Cinema-Quality Performance: With minimum sustained write speeds of 1,400 MB/s, this card allows users to capture cinema-quality 8K video without frame drops.
• Durable Enclosure: Designed to withstand drops of up to 1 meter and forces of up to 50 newtons (11.2 pounds-force), ensuring the safety of irreplaceable footage.
