AMD's Ryzen Threadripper CPUs, Code-named 'Storm Peak', Expected for September 2023 for Workstation and High-End Desktop Platforms

In the past, the Ryzen 2000 and 3000 series had both PRO and 'regular' Threadripper CPUs, with the latter aimed at high-end desktops. According to @g01d3nm4ng0, the HEDT variants of the new Threadripper CPUs will have 4 memory channels, 64 PCIe 5.0 lanes, 8 PCIe 3.0 lanes, and the option to overclock. The workstation CPUs will have 8 memory channels, 128 PCIe 5.0 lanes, and 8 PCIe 3.0 lanes, but will not be overclockable. Twitter user, @BenchLeaks, claimed to have spotted two prototypes of the new Threadrippers last month, both with 96 cores and 192 threads, but it is unclear whether they were HEDT models or PRO variants.

Recently, Asus CEO Tony Yu hinted that AMD will release the TR5 platform in the second half of 2023, which will likely include new Threadripper chips, but there is no information on the core counts yet.
