While not official, chatter in the market indicates NVIDIA discontinued its high-end RTX 4090 and RTX 4090D graphics card models, with GPU supplies ceasing in October 2024. Additionally, the RTX 4080S series will follow suit next month, with supplies ending in November. The company is shifting focus to inventory management and preparing for the release of its next-generation RTX 50 series. IT Home reported information from a member of the Bobantang community, citing insights from upstream manufacturers regarding Nvidia's latest product strategy. The report indicates significant changes in Nvidia's GPU lineup as the company transitions to newer technologies.

According to the report, GPU supplies for these models will cease in October 2024. Following this, manufacturers will concentrate on managing and reducing existing inventory levels. Similarly, the RTX 4080S series is scheduled for discontinuation next month, with GPU supplies ending in November 2024. This phased approach allows Nvidia and its manufacturing partners to streamline their product offerings and focus on optimizing supply chains for future releases. According to previous reports by IT Home, citing a whistleblower, the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 graphics cards are slated for an official launch at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, scheduled for early next year. Additionally, Nvidia may unveil the RTX 50 mobile graphics card during the same event, targeting the growing market for high-performance laptops and portable gaming devices. The discontinuation of the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080S series would mark the end of an era for Nvidia's top-tier GPUs. These models have been highly regarded for their superior performance in gaming, professional rendering, and computational tasks. However, the transition to the RTX 50 series is expected to bring significant improvements, aligning with the industry's shift towards more efficient and powerful GPU solutions.
