Netgear announces Nighthawk AX12 high-end $599 Wi-Fi 6 router

Netgear has announced a new high-end router today, it supports Wi-Fi 6, the brand-new AX Wi-Fi standard; and second, it’s a tri-band model, meaning it’s capable of delivering much more data at once.

The router that seems to have flown out of the Star Wars Deat Star is a 12-stream AX11000 Wi-Fi router powered by a quad-core 1.8GHz processor, offering 10.8GBps Wi-Fi (throughput) speeds and a 2.5G multi-gig ethernet interface as either a LAN or WAN. For mobile devices, the new router supports Gigabit Wi-Fi, as well as interface-free channels with dynamic frequency selection. The router includes a single 2.4GHz band and dual 5GHz bands, with all three bands including 4x4 antenna arrays. Wired connectivity is high-end as well: the router supports up to 2.5 Gbps connections and includes five Gigabit Ethernet ports for networking.

For the wired side of all things internet, the unit has five-gigabit ethernet ports, two ports can be combined for link aggregation. In addition, there is a full port on it that can handle up to 2.5 Gb/s.In addition to the Ethernet ports, there is 2x 3.0 USB on it. It’ll sell for a whopping $599 and is to be available in May 2019, but is up for pre-order now.
