Meta has announced the upcoming release of its Meta Quest 3, a mixed reality headset, slated for October 10. Pre-orders for the device have begun, with pricing set at $499.99 USD for the 128 GB variant and $649.99 USD for the 512 GB model. Additionally, the Meta Quest 3 will be bundled with "Asgard's Wrath 2" for a promotional period. The 512 GB version also offers a six-month trial of Meta Quest+.
The Meta Quest 3 emphasizes its capability to merge the digital and physical realms. It aims to provide a wide range of mixed reality experiences, such as watching NBA games with an immersive perspective or introducing virtual portals within a user's living space. The device's enhanced Passthrough functionality offers a full-color view with over 10 times the pixel count of its predecessor, the Meta Quest 2, allowing users to remain aware of their physical environment while interacting with the digital content.
This headset offers users a high degree of flexibility when choosing their level of immersion. The full-color Passthrough view is instantly activated upon wearing the headset, and a simple double-tap on the side of the device enables users to switch between complete immersion and a blended environment that combines both virtual and physical elements.

Starting next year, we'll also introduce augments: interactive, spatially aware virtual objects that come to life all around you. You'll be able to customize your space with augments like Instagram Reels, interactive music players, and portals that let you quickly jump back into your favorite immersive VR games.
