Introducing the Dark Rock 5 Air Cooler by be quiet! – Specifications and Features

Published by

be quiet!, the German manufacturer of premium PC components, recently announced the addition of Dark Rock 5 to its lineup of high-end air coolers. The Dark Rock 5 features a single-tower design, tailored to provide effective cooling solutions in setups where dual-tower models such as the Dark Rock Pro 5 or Dark Rock Elite are impractical. This cooler is compatible with leading consumer motherboards and RAM modules, ensuring broad usability across various system configurations.

The Dark Rock 5 builds upon the performance of its predecessor, Dark Rock 4, by integrating six high-performance heat pipes that link to an asymmetrical heat sink designed to accommodate high RAM and VRM coolers. The cooler is equipped with a Silent Wings 4 120 mm PWM fan, which operates at a low noise level of 29.8 dB(A) at full speed, delivering optimal air pressure and ensuring quiet operation. Users have the option to attach an additional fan on the exhaust side to enhance cooling performance.

This model is characterized by its enhanced mounting system, which includes a pre-fixed mounting bridge and screws, simplifying the installation process. A magnetic mesh top cover provides convenient access to the screws and elegantly conceals the ends of the heat pipes. The heat sink itself is coated in a special black paint mixed with ceramic particles to improve heat transfer and provide a sophisticated appearance.

The heat contact plate of the Dark Rock 5 is nickel-plated, making it compatible with liquid metal thermal compounds. The cooler is backed by a three-year manufacturer's warranty, underlining the commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. The Dark Rock 5 is set to hit retail shelves on June 25, with a price of $69.90 in the United States, €69.90 in Europe, and £64.99 in the United Kingdom.
