HP Launches ZBOOK x2 Detachable Workstation

Introducing a powerful detachable PC, with performance and versatility to push your favorite applications at a compact size, starting at $1749,- of course.

A Nvidia Quadro M620-GPU has been opted and you can select one of five CPUs, including two Intel Mobile Intel I7 Kaby Lake R cpu. One of the benefits of a dGPU here is that it's stored in the tablet portion of it, rather than in the base as with the Surface Book. If you remove the keyboard, you don't lose that additional GPU power. The HP ZBook x2 operates in four modes (laptop, detached, docked and tablet).

All of this sits behind a 14-inch 4K multi-touch screen with optional 10- bit, one-billion color HP DreamColor display that's been calibrated 100 percent of Adobe RGB.

The computer can be used in four different modes:

"As the world’s most powerful and first detachable PC workstation, there is no device better suited to turn the vision of artists and designers into reality," said Xavier Garcia, vice president and general manager of HP Z Workstations, HP Inc. "With the HP ZBook x2, we are delivering the perfect tool to accelerate the creative process – with unprecedented power, performance and natural ease-of-use. This device will make it easier than ever for creators to do what they do best – bring inspiring new ideas to life and enrich the world around us."

The tablet has a 14-inch 4K UHD display and a Wacom pen that supports 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. HP mentions that you can power up to two external 4K displays or five total external screens.

It comes with up to 32GB of RAM and optionally an up to a 512GB NVMe M.2 SED SSD.
