Eight core mobile Ryzen 9 4900U Got Listed by Lenovo, shortly.

Everybody has high hopes for the upcoming ZEN2 based Ryzen series, 4000 processors, for laptops and the mobile platform. Early leaks have already indicated a proper potential for the 15 Watt TDP based processors. A Ryzen 9 however never was mentioned, and as it seems Lenovo spilled the beans by tagging the 8-core/16-thread AMD Ryzen 9 4900U.

AMD Ryzen 9 4900U and the 4000 series, in general, are based on ZEN2 cores and fabricated on AMDs magic node, 7nm. Lenovo now has mentioned the AMD Ryzen 9 4900U, which at the very least will get a 15W rating as this puppy will have 8-cores and likely 16 threads. So where is all this coming from? Well, Lenovo yesterday released a video on YouTube (which has quickly been taken down), a datasheet for the Yoga Slim 7 (14" AMD) listed it supporting up to a Ryzen 9 4900U processor.

There are no real specs available just yet. But we do know that the Ryzen 7 4800U can boost towards 4.2 GHz, so the AMD Ryzen 9 4900U will likely offer the same but a notch higher. For a low power laptop platform that's just staggering really. Of course, that label could simply be a typo e.g. misprint. But the fact that the video was taken offline so quickly with no explanation, does make this a plausible assumption. Have a peek below.
