AMD has released a new chipset patch, the company includes several crucial security fixes. In general, it applies to practically all platforms that are utilized in conjunction with a Zen CPU (including Threadripper).

Although the release notes for version do not explicitly mention what changes have been made, a comparison with the previous version reveals that significant improvements have been made to the AMD PSP driver. The MicroPEP driver has also been updated to include a number of bug improvements, as well as support for more device IDs.

It is unclear which security flaws exactly have been addressed and which ones will remain open. If you are using a motherboard that is equipped with one of the aforementioned chipsets, it is in a good idea to update to the latest driver version. AMD suggests that you uninstall it first through the control panel.
