At NAB, The Verge saw a new 3D prototype display, a joint venture between Dolby and Philips. They were impressed with it display quality and clarity, which was very high and allowed 3D viewing even from far off to the side. The prototype display produced a 3D picture by combining a quad-HD TV with a sheet of undulating plastic, which produced 3D at 26 different points around the display. This display isn't quite ready for prime time, because the price of such high resolution displays is still very high.
