Dell going UltraWide at 3840 x 1600 with U3818DW - Available Now

We mentioned this one before, but Dell released its new IPS based monitor, an UltraWide one at a whopping 3840 x 1600 pixels, the model name is the U3818DW. Typically you'd end at 3440 x 1440 resolution on a 34” 21:9. This puppy has a 37.5” curved screen.



The U3818DW uses a 37.5” AH-IPS panel and has a moderate 2300R curve, which brings it towards a 24:10 (2.4:1) aspect ratio. The monitor has a 60Hz refresh rate, 1000:1 static contrast and 178°/178° viewing angles. The backlight based on a flicker-free WLED part offering 99% sRGB. 10-bit colour is supported, however by 8-bit + FRC dithering. The monitor comes factory calibrated in a sRGB preset. An 8ms grey to grey response time is specified in the ‘Normal’ mode and 5ms in the ‘Fast’ response time mode.

The screen attaches to the included stand using a quick-release bracket allowing a 100 x 100mm VESA mount. Connectors include (internal power converter), DP 1.2, 2 x HDMI 2.0, 4 x USB 3.0 (plus 2 upstream for KVM functionality), USB Type-C, 3.5mm audio output and 2 x 9W speakers.
