AMD has finally given their thumbs up to its AIB partners, opposed to selling reference cards, they may make custom models of the Radeon RX 6900 XT aka Navi 21 XTX GPU.
The GPU features 80 CUs, 5120 Stream Processors, 16GB of GDDR6 memory, and will officially be sold for an MSRP of $ 999. Don't expect the AIB designs anytime soon though, that won't be before early 2021 due to the decisions being just made. It's unclear why AMD hasn't confirmed the custom RX 6900 XT series so far, MyDrivers believes it could be due to the low stock of the Navi 21 GPU . This would put even more pressure on the company that currently cannot meet the demand of its customers with the graphics cards released so far.
For their part, manufacturers should have no problem adapting the RX 6900 XT to their already released custom RX 6800 XT cards. Both GPUs share the same frequencies and power consumption and PCB, so the new models are not expected to look much different from the 6800 XT range.
