Benchmark shows AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processor with eight cores, and it's fast

Well, it's not a surprize that ZEN3 is coming, and we already heard about it being named the 5000 series, as well as a mention of a Ryzen 9 5900. New is an 8-core Ryzen 7 5700 model, it surfaced in AotS.

One thing is certain, AotS is an absolute pos when it comes to comparing things, but hey here we go. A dude named DpuTiger ran several benchmarks with the unannounced Ryzen 7 CPU resolution ranges are 1920x1080 up-to 3840x2160 pixels. He used a GeForce RTX 2080 and 32GB ram The processor achieves an average 'CPU Framerate' of 133.6fps. The CPU Framerate is a tool of the game with which the game calculates what the theoretical framerate would be if other hardware was not a bottleneck.

The guy also player ran a benchmark with the RTX 2080 GPU paired with an Intel Core i9-10900K CPU with a clock speed of 3.7GHz and with 16GB of ram. The processor achieved a CPU frame rate of 113.9 fps on average. With the Crazy_1440p preset, the Ryzen 7 5800X CPU gets an average theoretical score of 140.6fps; with the Crazy_1080p preset this is 142.4fps. According to the benchmarks, the 5800X processor will get eight cores and sixteen threads.

According to the game, the Ryzen 7 5800X has eight cores plus SMTfor 16 threads simultaneously, but unfortunately there is no information about the motherboard or clock speeds. One can assume, however, that it is still a preliminary copy of the Ryzen 5000 series ('Vermeer'), which could later even run at higher frequencies.

If all this remains to be correct, then AMD has been focussing hard on tackling the challenges with high-framerate gaming. We'll learn more coming October the 8th.
