ASUS posts Radeon RX 7900 Series TUF Gaming specs, incl clocks frequencies

Based on the 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT SKUs, these TUF Gaming cards include a custom-built triple-fan design that takes up 3.6 slots and is powered by three 8-pin power connectors. In a recent update, ASUS confirmed the advertised clock speeds for all four models.

Both a "default" and a "OC" mode are mentioned in ASUS's published specifications. This latter option is the maximum supported by the official ASUS programme, known as GPU Tweak. It is, therefore not an "out of the box" specification, but rather the highest certified clock speed that is officially supported without voiding the guarantee.

Recall that the base clock speed of a Radeon RX 7900 XTX is 2300 MHz and that its boost clock speed can reach 2500 MHz. These clock speeds for the Radeon RX 7900 XT GPU are 2000 and 2400 MHz. The Radeon RX 7900 XTX TUF Gaming GPU's OC Edition comes with a default clock of 2565 MHz, which is a 2.6% (boost) factory overclock. But in OC mode, the frequency increases 4.6% beyond the AMD standards. In contrast, the RX 7900 XT TUF OC model has a significantly greater overclock. In its default configuration, the clock speed is 2500 MHz, which is 4.1% higher than the specifications. The OC mode, on the other hand, applies a software-based overclock of 5.6%.

While boost clock is higher than game clock, it is more likely to be reached under optimal conditions. When compared to Radeon RX 6900 XT TUF OC Gaming GPUs, these enhancements are somewhat on par with the average, though it is worth mentioning that ASUS did provide a more powerful TUF TOP Edition with an even higher overclock.
