Acer Predator Orion 9000 To Get Core i9 18C/36T processor

Acer has been a busy bee showing off gaming mice, headsets, that delayed G-Sync HDR screen, and also an 18-core processor PC. The Orion 9000 holds four GPUs, two carry-grips, and carbon fibre patterned wheels. Yeah, wheels. And they’re calling that a gaming PC. We think the 9000 in the naming likely to be the sales price.

Pretty much Predator Orion 9000 is Acer showing off what they can offer and get to the most screamy stuff they can they can find to jam into a PC. This puppy features an 18-core Intel Core i9-7980XE processor (the 7980XE retails for $2,000 on its own), four AMD Radeon Vega graphics cards, and 128GB of memory. Other configurations with more reasonable components—including comparatively cheaper CPUs like the i9-7900X, as well as GTX 1080 Ti SLI graphics from Nvidia—will also be available.

“The Predator Orion 9000 is the most powerful PC we’ve ever made,” Acer’s Jeff Lee says. “With four-way graphics and 18-core processors, it is a platform that takes gamers and intense graphic users beyond their dreams.”

Specs

Acer apprantly is using a motherboard of its own design that features eight dimm slots, support for up to 128GB of DDR4 memory, and up to 42 TB of storage via tool-free mounts. There are five 120mm fan mounts, one of which is taken up by an all-in-one liquid cooling unit manufactured by Coolermaster. A PSU shroud helps keep cables tidy while also directing airflow. If you check the photo those RGB-lit fans cost extra. Europe will get it in November, and the US won't see it in until December. Price is TBA.
