Last week we already reported that Intels 12-core Intel Core i9 7920X will get a 400 MHz slower base-clock compared to the 10-core 7900X, that information is now confirmed with a leaked CPU-Z screenshot. The screenshot also reveals a multiplier, and will tell you the Turbo/Boost frequency.
That turbo multiplier is 44 for this $1,199 USD Core i9-7920X, ergo some or just one thread will run at 4400z MH coming all the way from that 2.9 GHz base-clock. The low base-clock is likely needed to deal with heat of the many core design and TDP. The rest of the turbos should be hovering at the familiar 4 GHz domain. The chip has 16.5 MB of L3 and 12 MB of L2 cache.
And that makes things interesting with ther 12-core Ryzen Threadripper part here. AMDs 12-core part will have a 600 MHz faster base clock at 3.5 GHz (boost 4.0 GHz).
