NZXT H9 Elite chassis review

Introduction

NZXT H9 Elite chassis review

We’re checking out the NZXT H9 ELITE, a mainly aesthetic-oriented mid-sized ATX tower PC chassis, this time. If you want more focus on the airflow (less bling), there’s a (less expensive) NZXT H9 Flow. The last chassis from NZXT we could check was the H700i. There were some AIO cooler (Kraken series) reviews after that. In the meantime, such models as H710i/H510i were released. In the current offer, there are, for example, H5 (compact ATX Mid-Tower) or H7 (ATX Mid-Tower). The H9 series is a dual-chamber mid-tower chassis with a 66.9l volume (quite a lot). The looks are attractive; it resembles the Lian Li O11 Dynamic quite a lot. We’ll find the four 120 mm fans, one (F120Q) at the back, non-RGB, with a 3-pin connector and max 1200 rpm (62.18 CFM and 25.1 dBA). The other three (RGB, F120 RGB Duo) are on the side (with up to 48.58 CFM and 29 dBA). Their rpm varies between 500 and 1800 rpm. This time the tempered glass contains three parts, not two pieces (in the Flow version). There are two color versions:

The exact dimensions are 466 × 290 × 495 (L×W×H) in total; it’s 66.9 l of volume, so that’s in the upper range of the mid-tower chassis. The H9 ELITE supports up to ATX (and uATX and mini-ITX) motherboards – there’s no E-ATX compatibility (but that shouldn’t be an issue). According to the specs, two 3.5” or 4+2 2.5” drives are supported. On the front, you will find the following ports:

The NZXT H9 ELITE provides many cooling options, supporting radiators:

It’s possible to mount:

You also get seven expansion slots.

There are also fan filters at all air intakes. You can use CPU air coolers with a max height of 165 mm (which should fit most models but not all). The GPUs can measure up to 435 mm in length. The PSU shouldn’t be longer than 200mm. The price is now 239.99 USD. The NZXT H9 Flow (which has “only” the fans without the RGB and no RGB controller) is available for 159.99 USD. Will it be worth that price? First - let’s check out the specs and features of this chassis.
