Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless SE headset review

Introduction

Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless SE headset

We review the new Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless SE headset. The new headset is aimed at both gaming and music-loving audiophiles. It's not just Corsairs most premium headset, it's even a bit of an experience. Yes, I know, that sounds weird, but the second you enable this headset you are welcomed by a friendly voice, your headset is taling to you with what I can only describe as the star trek supercomputer, she's telling you that the headset is linked up. When enabling the MIC the same happens, as we are again greeted by that friendly voice, telling me that it is active. Lovin'; that.

So yes, welcome towards a new Corsair headset review. Corsair has been offering quite a bit of them, ranging from low to high priced e.g. budget towards the gaming premium. However there is a niche left, the premium market, and that is where the Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless SE headset fits in. A grand design attractive design in which Corsair still managed to squeeze RGB functionality. Of course, it's not about that, this is a headset for the purists, with hours of wireless headset gaming and music listening over two quality Neodyne 50mm drivers. These surround sound headphones offer 16-bit/48 KHz playback and a frequency range of 20Hz-40,000Hz (note: you can not hear above 20,000 Hz unless you're very young). Being all wireless and fitted with nice big Neodyne 50mm drivers this headset connects wireless with the help of a slipstream dongle connected towards your USB port - a receiver and transmitter USB dongle. Obviously, for best functionality, you will need to download the latest iCUE software for the full software suite which allows you to tweak audio to your audiophile preference as well as RGB lighting (off is an option too!). The headset offers surround wireless gaming headset that brings in more realistic multi-channel-like gaming audio. The battery charge can bring you the comfort of 20 hours of continuous fragging pleasure before it runs out of battery life, and if depleted you can, of course, continue by connecting a USB cable, so charing and usage at the same time can be done.

The product will be sold as normal and SE model. the SE model is fitted with an aluminum ear cup plates finish and micro-perforation RGB lighting (we'll show you that later), a larger, 9.5mm broadcast-quality microphone and storage pouch. Virtuoso RGB Wireless has a rather spicy MSRP of $179,- while SE has an MSRP of $209,- the headset will become available in three colors; Gunmetal, carbon and white.
