be quiet! Pure Base 500
Silent, compact & versatile

We review the be quiet! Pure Base 500. It has been a while since we have tested a new be quiet product as they often refresh the existing range. The Pure Base 500 is exciting though, sleek look and available in white, black and gunmetal colors it catches the eye and surely can make up for an impressive yet silent build. You can opt two versions, a window (tempered glass) or closed version for even better acoustics. We received the gun-metal colored chassis design and can we say we like the new color option?

The Pure Base 500 is all about offering a compact ATX case. Despite its small size, you can still fit a full ATX mainboard is there so you are not restricted towards Mini or mATX form factors at all. it fits several formats radiators, lengthy graphics cards (369 millimeters) and even offers high-clearance cooler space for those that stick to air-based (Heatpipe) cooling up-to 190 millimeters.

Preinstalled you'll find two 140mm Pure Wings 2 fans which are silent at even ~50% RPM, the top, right side and front sides have been fitted with sound-insulating material. Also interesting is an interchangeable top cover, designed to either block out noise from the interior or open up additional cooling capabilities. To make building easier, cables can be routed under the integrated PSU shroud or behind the SSD covers, while the power supply can slide in through the rear of the case thanks to the included PSU installation bracket.

Priced at $69.90 (Black), $79.90 (Black Window), $74.90 (Metallic Gray and White), $84.90 (Metallic Gray Window and White Window).  This chassis positions itself in a more mainstream range of PC housing. Maybe a little pricey for what it is though, but this chassis does come with sound dampening and good quality yet silent low RPM fans
