The 14th Gen Intel Core i9-14900KF processor has been tested on Geekbench 6, revealing a single-core score of 3,347 and multi-core score of 23,051 on an ASRock Z790 Taichi motherboard with 32 GB of DDR5-7000 memory.
We'll see how this translates to gaming performance.
I think that it will be a tad better...
For heavy workstation use I still think that 7950X is a better offer.
On the high end both AMD and Intel are power hungry and space heaters so there is no point laughing at Intel because AMD is in the same boat.
so, unkown power usage (probably higher than the zen4 sample), +1600 on memory, + 50% cores. Seems a legit performance from unreleased CPU vs an uarch that is now 1 year old on the marked.

Multicore full load for 13900K is 100W more than for 7950X3D. However, if you don't load all the cores so consistently, then I doubt you'd notice such a big difference. If used for business, then it would also matter how much more performance you'd get, as it might make it financially better, even if the power use was higher. But then again, maybe such a business user would go for Threadripper. If not for business but the owner has a nice set of solar panels and can put them to use, then it also wouldn't matter. It's all up to the buyer.
Looks good so far, next build for me is Intel 🙂
My 5800X3D has been allright, but time to step up.
The 14900k probably barely beats a 5800x3d in games like factorio, dwarf fortress and stellaris that loves cache, so make sure you are not playing cache loving games.
I admit I am a AMD fanboy, but the 14900k is still only a refresh on an dead end platform with a, in my opinion, worse PCI setup then my current AM5 platform.

the thing with the 7950x is that if you limit the tdp to 105w you retain >90% of the performance on multi threaded ,and it cuts the max power consumption by like 70w
for intel its a similar story though its not able to retain as much performance
sucks that they ship processors in that state.

What?....you can't be serious?
Edit: when you already own a RTX 4090 and instead of getting 1500 frames per second you wind up getting 1600 frames per second!
Yea!...:p

I built an mATX rig with 13900K for friend, limited the CPU to 180W and it still get ~37k CB23, that 13900K has no thermal issue at stock settings either (only reaching low 80C in CB23)

I am quite tempted on jumping the boat to Intel - those temps are with what kind of cooling? - room temp?
Now, for me at least, I think that 7950X is more suited but I am still searching - this Intel CPU seems impressive.

using a cheap 360mm AIO but only 2 fans 😀 (Due to the 4080 blocking the PSU cage), room temp is 33C
Oh and the fans are not running at 100%, I set a fixed 70% fan speed

This is with slow DDR5 🙂
5800x3d is like ancient hardware now 😛 30% behind in a AMD sponsored title...
This is what I'm running on 13900k:
Can't wait for even faster DDR5 with 14900k 😀
Zen5 is coming in march with totally revamped L3 cache and 25% IPC increase now thats a time to upgrade especially for those who already have am5 boards 😛
Im gonna swap to 8700x as soon its out.

I'm not using my 7800x3d, becuase 13900k with 8533c36 is faster in all games I play. Need to wait to "8800x3d" to use AMD again 😛
