Considering some of the things Asus does to minimize cables, I wonder if they could solder a micro HDMI port to the mobo, near the CPU, so you could operate a fully-functional LCD with minimal cables. It could be operated via the iGPU, which for such builds is likely to go unused. Maybe include some jumpers so the port can be re-routed to the I/O panel.

Burn in? On an LCD? I know that can happen but that's a particularly crappy panel if that's what's happening.

Yup, & I've still got one (retired from service). Suffered from & still does, horrendous burnin on the Oled. Asus replaced it if it happened within the warranty period but outside of that if it happened you were Fooked, literally. I naturally fell into the second, later category 🙁
