Windows 11 to Include Built-in RGB Lighting Control: Microsoft's Dynamic Lighting Solution

Panos Panay, Microsoft's Chief Product Officer of Windows and Devices, recently announced in a blog post that Windows 11 will integrate a built-in RGB lighting control system.

This development aims to solve the prevalent issue of uncoordinated RGB lighting management across varying devices and motherboards, a problem that often necessitates the installation of several inconsistent applications.

While the post touches on several subjects, it lacks explicit details about the user interface. Microsoft's new feature, referred to as "Dynamic Lighting," is anticipated to be incorporated within the Windows settings. A preview of Dynamic Lighting is set to be released in an upcoming Windows 11 insider build, giving users an insight into Microsoft's strategy and the level of control they might anticipate.

It's important to mention that the success of Dynamic Lighting is partially dependent on the cooperation of hardware manufacturers, implying that there might still be devices unsupported by this feature.

As more details emerge, we'll gain clearer insight into Microsoft's execution and the scope of user customization. The inclusion of native RGB lighting control in Windows 11 is poised to simplify the RGB experience, reducing the need for several disconnected applications.

A unified system would be great, but I can't see it working. Every manufacture bring quirks and ideas that have small sales volumes. LCD's on AIO pumps? Motherboard RGB? Corsair iCue?

I'd love to be proved wron.

I absolutely don't care about having RGB in my PC, however having used Razer Synapse some years ago, and seeing reports of RGB control software being massive resource hogs, my main concern isn't a unified interface, it's having a solutions that's as lightweight as possible.
