I know this post isn't about it, but the XG2703-GS (27", 1440p, Gsync, 165Hz) is seriously costing $1,217? They won't sell many models as the comptetition (Asus PG279Q, Acer XB271HU) costs 800-850€ here without shipping...

It's strange that if you want 1440p it's GSync only, and if you want 4K it's Freesync only.

Seems to me they missed the 1440p Freesync and the 4K GSync...

My guess is there is something in the G-SYNC module contract to prevent them from doing this.

Hmm, this is certainly an interesting article to say the least!

You keep hearing people talk about ASUS, Acer, BenQ, etc. Have you ever heard anyone say "Yeah man I have that cool ViewSonic monitor". Personally - I have not, I am hardly familiar with this company.

I don't want to be/sound like a toxic/negative person, but I honestly don't see anyone who would buy this monitor. It just wouldn't be a very wise choice in my opinion considering the current competition. If ViewSonic released XG2703-GS half a year ago - then they could've gained some decent revenue I'm sure, however with ASUS and Acer currently in place I really cannot comprehend how they can even aim for a higher price, it makes no sense! Especially since the amount is really noticeable ~$200-250

Also what is this "SuperClear IPS" that they speak of? When I checked on their website - they were showing a difference between TN and "SuperClear IPS" panel. Why not show us what is the difference between IPS and "SuperClear IPS"?
