Eidos Montreal is working on a game about the Guardians of the Galaxy heroes of comics giant Marvel. The company announced this to NU.nl before a major presentation.

Eidos Montreal is known for the Tomb Raider games. The company also recently developed a game about Marvel's Avengers . According to the studio, the game has been in development for several years. In the Guardians of the Galaxy game, players take on the role of Star-Lord, the leader of an alien group of superheroes. Your teammates help during battles, but in between you also have to calm them down by, for example, mediating during fights.

While Guardians of the Galaxy is primarily a comic book series, the game seems largely inspired by the recent Marvel feature films. For example, the first images are accompanied by a soundtrack with cult classics from the eighties, just like in the films. The new game should be strictly a single player narrative experience. This makes the game different from the previously released Avengers , which also had a multiplayer segment in addition to the story. This addition was largely criticized in reviews.

The game is set to release on October 26 for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series S|X, and PC.
